Our aim is to work with families, teachers and other relevant Stakeholders to provide a safe, comfortable and alternative aid time for children with Special Needs, out of the classroom.
Management strategies will reflect the wishes of the parent and teachers and whilst we hope to challenge each individual physically and mentally, we progress only in a completely comfortable and trusting atmosphere.
Much of the initial work will be establishing a basis of trust with client, parent and teachers.
Management Strategies
-Liaise with Parents, teachers and other relevant Stakeholders to assist with identifying the childs strengths and weaknesses both physically and emotionally.
-Structured activities and small groups
-Provide reassurance and structure, avoiding criticism, spontaneity and sarcasm
-Teach leisure skills and social games in a non threatening, fun environment
-Stress management training e.g. ways to relax, a sanctuary, self control
-Provide visual and written instructions to assist comprehension
-Repetition and familiarity to assist the child in feeling safe
-Be positive, be creative, be flexible but establish routines
CoreSelf has a global improvement strategy to fitness training incorporating games, resistance training, balance work, flexibility training, effective movement, social interaction and individual as well as group training. Our most important ingredient is fun. We believe people can enjoy training and are more equipped to achieve their goals if they are enjoying what they do and can see realistic transfer into their lives.
Trust will play a major role in the progression of each child. Aid time will:
-Begin on an individual basis, for 40 mins,
Sessions will be 35 minutes in duration (including warm-up and cool-down) with an allocated introduction and de-brief.
This will go for a flexible period of time, and will be assessed regularly by all stakeholders as to the effectiveness of the program.
-Progress to groups of 2.
Partners will be chosen to create the smoothest transition for both students.
Pairs allows individual attention with far more interactive game play, learning and social applications.
-Further progression will be into groups of 3, advancing the dynamic situations without losing the ability to provide direct attention.
