Mentoring Program
Core
We readily understand that we are creating programs that will nurture our Aspergers clients yet provide the challenges necessary to facilitate change.
With this in mind we are very pleased to establish a mentoring program with Aaron Martin. Aaron is in a unique position to use his personal training expertise and personal experiences to ensure clients achieve the most out of the program.
But when I finished school I began exercising and found the following benefits:
-My motor coordination improved
-I had a lot less hyperactivity and so was able to concentrate much better in the classroom.
-The frequent stress and anxiety that had plagued my early years was greatly reduced.
-I began making more friends.
Last year I became a qualified personal trainer (Cert 4) and worked along with several other people with Aspergers who were doing the course. We incorporated a lot of physical activity into our lives and as a result had less depression, less hyperactivity, less meltdowns and were able to concentrate better in the classroom. I taught these other Aspies martial arts and were able to create a bully free environment as a result. Our marks did not suffer as a result of bullying and we all left with our certificates and found good jobs.
Exercise is critical to Aspies if they wish to lead a successful life. Exercise is great for physical and psychological wellbeing.
I am now completing a fitness specialist course.
Self
CoreSelf has a global improvement strategy to fitness training incorporating games, resistance training, balance work, flexibility training, effective movement, social interaction and individual as well as group training. Our most important ingredient is fun. We believe people can enjoy training and are more equipped to achieve their goals if they are enjoying what they do and can see realistic transfer into their lives.

Martin
I was diagnosed with Aspergers when I was 9 years old. Nothing was noticed in my time before going to school, but when I began attending preschool it was noticed that my general motor coordination was quite poor. I couldnt catch or throw a ball even when it was thrown straight at me. As a result I was bullied daily for my entire school life. Team sports were almost unbearable at school and my inability to play team sports resulted in few or no friends.
